Approach

It began with animals. Dogs first, then horses, photographed at their own pace on estates and at yards around Aberdeenshire. Waiting for a subject to forget the lens is a habit you learn quickly with a spaniel, and it carried into everything since.

Most people who book a brand shoot or a headshot open with some version of the same sentence: they hate having their photograph taken. That gets treated as the real brief. Sessions run unhurried, nothing is posed rigidly into place, and there is always time to look at the back of the camera before anyone commits.

Iska has worked as a photographer since 2017, is professionally insured, and holds membership of the Federation of Small Businesses, the Societies of Photographers and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce. Alongside commissions she runs workshops and one-to-one training for people who want to make their own pictures.
